On Sunday, June 23rd, after the 11 AM mass, the Knights of Columbus’ JFK Council 5523 hosted a free BBQ for church parishioners at Sts. Martha & Mary. This BBQ was held in the honour of Fr. Paul Magyar, as a thank you for the excellent work he has done for our church. Fr. Paul received a promotion by the Archdiocese of Toronto and will, unfortunately, no longer be our presiding priest. Fr. Paul Magyar will surely be missed.
This BBQ was the last event hosted of the ’23-’24 fraternal year for the Knights, and we are pleased to say, it was an extreme success. Over 230 parishioners attended the event to show their love and support for Fr. Paul Magyar and the Knights of Columbus. The event itself was thoroughly enjoyed by the parishioners at Sts. Martha & Mary and we’ve received nothing short of amazing feedback from those whom attended.
We, the Knights of Columbus – JFK Council 5523, would love to give a big thank you to our event sponsors for their financial contributions, for which we were able to make this a free event to the parishioners. We also want to give a thank you to our kind friends – the sweet ladies from the Catholic Womens League, for contributing so many extra cakes and sweets to the BBQ for everyone to enjoy.
Pictures of the event will be posted shortly, check back soon to check them out!
